JetPower 09
The Jetpower show was bigger and better than ever! Once again, we were blessed with good weather, allowing for flying from 10am until 7 or 8 at night. Our trade stand in the marquee attracted a lot of attention and our pilots performed flawlessly.
The Wren team included Mike, Roger and Sara from the UK, with our pilots from Luxembourg and France - Lucien, Eric, Jeannot, Greg and Paul. We were joined by a new pilot, Martin Sauter from Switzerland who has a Transall C160-D powered by two Wren turboprops.
Martin's Transall was the first twin turboprop to fly at Jetpower. Martin is an excellent pilot who wowed the crowd with a "Sarajevo landing" - short and steep as done by transport planes in war zones.
We also have a twin turboprop Bronco, designed and built by Lucien Gerard, which uses two of the new Wren HD turboprop engines.
The Bronco did not fly this year, but was on the flightline and the engines were run regularly throughout the show. Spectators were invited to help hold the plane as Lucien ran the engines up, showing how much power there is.
We met some customers from France who have a Wren 44 with which they are doing some amazing 3D flying. They proudly advertise the Wren engine on their shirts and they have a website at http://www.heliprop.com/
